Platform Guide

The Cosmos is the entire Generative Cats universe. It contains Galaxies, which contain Stars (users), which have Planets (cats) orbiting them. Every cat, creator, and community connection exists within this shared cosmic space.

Galaxies are communities within the Cosmos. When you join, you're assigned to one of 10 galaxies, and it stays your home. Your galaxy page shows its stars, its cats, its contests and its winners. Cross-galaxy connections create visible links between communities.

Cosmos → Galaxies → Stars → Planets. You are a Star. Each cat you create becomes a Planet orbiting your Star. Your Star is part of a Galaxy, and all Galaxies together form the Cosmos.

Your Star is your identity in the Cosmos. You don't pick a username: your first discovery names your Star, and that name is permanent.

Yes. A name is how others know your Star, so it stays the same for good. What grows is the rest of your Star: its bio and its portrait evolve as you discover, research and connect more cats.

Yes. Every Star is listed on its Galaxy's page. Other members can visit your Star to see your Planets and cats, your bio, and its history.

Tap Discover and describe anything — a material (like "popcorn", "crystal", or "autumn leaves"), a word, a mood. A cat figurine is generated in its likeness, on a planet of its own.

Discover finds a species: a brand new cat with no parents, on a new planet. Research studies one, and every study finds a new variety (1 parent) that inherits its lineage and lives on its planet. Connect joins two lineages (2 parents): the connected cat lives on a new Planet that exists in both creators' Star systems.

Connecting two cats connects their worlds. The connected cat exists in both creators' systems with a portal between them. Cross-galaxy connections create visible inter-galactic links, and a connection weighs more than a variety on the Cosmos chord.

Free accounts get 30 lifetime creations. Members on an Expedition get 30/month. Early-bird pricing, while seats last, is $7.99/mo or $79.99/year, kept while you stay subscribed. If your subscription ends (you cancel and the paid period runs out, or payment fails), a later one is at the price current then. The standard price is $9.99/mo or $99.99/year.

Yes, any time, from your account; you keep Expedition features to the end of the period you've paid for. Payments aren't refundable, except a charge made in error, such as a double charge or one taken after you deleted your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't return the current period. Polar, our Merchant of Record, may grant a refund under its own buyer terms; if it does, we may end the paid features, or take back the unspent generations, that the refunded payment bought. None of this limits a refund right the law where you live gives you.

A cat's finish rises when other members research it: the count of different people who have found a variety of it. Finishes run Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Prismatic. Favorites don't move a finish, and payment never buys one.

Explore, the first key in the bar, shows cats from across the Cosmos in tabs: For You, Trending, New, Following (the stars you follow), Attributes and Timeline. It's the main way to find cats to favorite, research, or connect.

Open the Attributes tab in Explore and pick a material, mood or palette to see every cat that carries it. You can also browse a Galaxy to see one community's cats, or visit a Star to see everything it has made.

Every cat has a lineage graph showing its ancestry: parents, grandparents, and all descendants. A cat's finish does not depend on how deep its lineage goes; it rises only when other members research it.

Each galaxy votes for its Cat of the Day, Cat of the Week, Cat of the Month and Cat of the Galaxy, and once a year one Cat of the Cosmos is named across every galaxy. Winning cats earn a trophy, and their creators earn Champion badges.

Open contests are on your galaxy page. The daily contest is head-to-head: you pick between two cats, as many times as you like up to the daily limit. Every other contest takes one vote. The cat with the most votes when the period ends wins.

A cat that wins Cat of the Week, Month, Galaxy or Cosmos earns its creator a Champion badge for that tier. Champion badges appear on your Star.

Badges level up as you use the Cosmos: discovering, researching and connecting cats, other members researching or connecting yours, visiting galaxies, stars and planets, travelling through portals, voting, and winning contests. Most keep levelling with no top level; a few, like visiting all 10 galaxies and the crew patches, are earned once. They appear on your Star.

Yes — free accounts get 30 lifetime creations to explore the platform. Payment unlocks more creations, not status. Prestige is always earned.

Yes. Cats, planets, stars, and the portals between them stay in the cosmos. That's what makes lineage work — a connection next year can reach back to a cat made today. There's no delete button for a creation, and the only thing that ever removes one is the law: a rights-holder demand we don't contest, illegal content, or a court order.

No — and neither does anyone else. Everyone here agrees that everything generated on the platform is free for every member to use: share it, repost it, print it, sell prints, adapt it elsewhere, tell your own stories about the cats. You can say you made a cat, and the lineage will back you up. You just can't claim it as yours alone, and nobody can tell you to stop using one. The full rule is in the Terms, section 7.

They stay, and they stop being connected to you. Deleting your account is permanent: your creations remain in the cosmos forever, unattributed, and if you return you begin as a new star. Deletion removes your sign-in and every piece of personal data on your account. If you never bought anything, even we couldn't tell you afterwards which star used to be yours. Sign in and visit Support → Send Feedback. Choose a category (general, bug, or feature request), describe the issue, and optionally include your email for follow-up. Every submission is reviewed.

Use the Content Complaints page on the support hub. That's the channel for content that infringes your rights, is illegal, or is covered by a court order — the only reasons anything is ever removed.
