Generative Cats LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Generative Cats platform at generativecats.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Collect

We are designed to collect minimal personal data. Here is what we receive and store:

Account Information

You sign in using Google Authentication. Google handles the authentication process and stores your identity information (name, profile photo, etc.). We receive only your email address from Google OAuth. We do not collect your name, phone number, physical address, or any other personally identifying information. We do not create or store passwords.

Generated Content

We store the creative prompts you submit and the AI-generated outputs (cat images, names, lore, traits). This content is associated with your account and displayed within the platform.

Usage Data

We track basic usage metrics necessary to operate the Service: generation counts, reactions, follows, and subscription status. This data is used to enforce tier limits, compute engagement metrics, and improve the platform.

3. What We Do Not Collect

To be explicit about our minimal data practices:

• We do not collect your real name (your identity on the platform is a generatively assigned star name)
• We do not collect phone numbers, physical addresses, or government IDs
• We do not store passwords (Google handles authentication)
• We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising networks
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data
• We do not collect payment card details (Polar handles all payment processing)

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Service (generate cats, display in cosmos, track lineages)
• Manage your account and subscription through Polar
• Enforce usage limits and capacity controls
• Communicate with you about service updates or support requests
• Improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
• Prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data:

Google Firebase

Authentication (Google Sign-In), Firestore database, and Cloud Storage for generated images. Google processes your authentication and stores your email address as part of the Firebase Authentication service. Firebase Privacy Policy

Google Cloud / Vertex AI

Your creative prompts and generation parameters are sent to Google's Vertex AI (Imagen 4 Ultra) for image generation and Google's Gemini models for text generation (names, lore, traits). Polar.sh

All payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing is handled by Polar.sh as our Merchant of Record. We do not see or store your payment card details. 6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure (Firebase) in the United States. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use Firebase's security rules to restrict data access. Since we use Google OAuth exclusively, there are no passwords to compromise on our end.

7. Data Retention

Your account data is retained while your account is active. Generated cats are part of the shared cosmos and persist as part of the community lineage (other creators may have remixed or merged with your cats). You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting support. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use minimal cookies strictly necessary to operate the Service:

• Authentication cookies — set by Firebase to maintain your signed-in session

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics tracking cookies, or any third-party cookies. We do not participate in cross-site tracking.

9. Children's Privacy

Generative Cats is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us through our support page and we will delete the information.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Portability — Request your data in a portable format

11. International Data Transfers

Your data is processed and stored in the United States on Google Cloud infrastructure. If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
