Your Data & Deletion

1. What We Hold About You

Less than you might expect, and it is worth seeing the whole list in one place:

• Your email address — the only personal detail we have.
• Your account record — star name, galaxy, generated bio, quota counters, engagement counters, subscription state.
• Two opaque Polar identifiers if you subscribe. No payment details.
• Your creations — prompts, images, names, traits, lore, and the lineage links between them.
• Support submissions you have sent, if any.
• A waitlist entry, if you joined one.

We do not hold your real name, your password, your payment details, your photograph, or a behavioral profile. The Privacy Policy explains why each item above exists.

2. The One-Thread Architecture

Your identity on this platform is generated, not supplied. Your star name comes from your creations. Your bio is written by a model. Your profile image is a crop of one of your own cats — the product accepts no uploads, so your face cannot get here. Nothing you make is signed with your name, because we do not have your name.

The result is that one piece of data connects you the person to you the star: your email address. Everything else is a generated artifact of the cosmos. That is a design choice with a consequence, and the consequence is the next section.

3. Deleting Your Account

Deleting your account is permanent: your creations remain in the cosmos forever, unattributed, and if you return you begin as a new star.

There is no deactivation, no cooling-off period, and no restore. Nothing about a deleted account can be recovered, reclaimed, or reconnected — not by you, and not by us. Please be sure before you ask.

What is erased

• Your Firebase Authentication user, so the sign-in itself no longer exists.
• Your email address, everywhere it appears.
• Your generated bio and profile image selection.
• Your Polar customer and subscription identifiers.
• Your invite code and waitlist entry.
• Your showcase, and your name and image evolution histories.
• The reply-to address on any support ticket you sent, and your PostHog analytics person record.

What remains

• Your cats, planets, star node, portals, and the lineage graph they sit in — permanent by design, and free to every member under the commons rule.
• The counters that keep the cosmos coherent — how many cats a star made, how many merges a portal carries.

What is gone is the thread between those artifacts and you. The star keeps its generated name, its planets keep orbiting, and other members can still remix and merge with them — but there is no longer a person on the other end.

Even we cannot reconnect you

This is the point of doing it this thoroughly. We do not keep a shadow copy, an archive table, or a hashed email to match against later. After deletion runs, there is no record anywhere in our systems that links a star to a person — so if you wrote to us afterward and asked which star used to be yours, we would not be able to tell you. The completeness is the privacy feature.

How to ask

Email privacy@generativecats.app from the address on the account, with “Delete my account” in the subject. We will confirm once — that is your last chance to change your mind — and then run it. Deletion completes within 30 days and usually much sooner.

4. Your Other Rights

Depending on where you live you may have some or all of these. We honor them for everyone rather than checking your jurisdiction first.

• Access — a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Portability — that copy in a machine-readable format.
• Correction — fix anything inaccurate. In practice this is limited: almost everything on your account is generated by the platform rather than entered by you.
• Erasure — section 3 above.
• Objection and restriction — ask us to stop or limit a particular processing activity.
• Withdraw consent — turn on Do Not Track to stop analytics entirely, or unsubscribe from any email we send.

One right we cannot give you is erasure of your creations. They are permanent by design, they belong to no one under the commons rule, and other members' work now depends on them. They are also unattributed once your account is gone, which is what makes that workable.

5. How to Exercise Them

One address for all of it: privacy@generativecats.app. Write from the email address on the account so we can tell it is you, say which right you are exercising, and we will respond within 30 days. There is no fee and no form to fill in.

6. If You Are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland

Your data is processed and stored in the United States on Google Cloud infrastructure. Where that transfer is from the UK, the EEA, or Switzerland, it is made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as incorporated into our processors' data-processing terms.

We process your data to perform our contract with you (running the platform you signed up for), to meet legal obligations, and for the legitimate interests of keeping the service secure and working out which parts of it people use. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority — and we would appreciate the chance to fix it first, at privacy@generativecats.app.
